Dr Feldenkrais described any action as being made up of three components – timing, orientation and manipulation. Over the past few years the component of ‘orientation’ has been an interesting area to seek more clarity and understanding in, both personally and in my professional practice. How do I orient to myself, to the world around me, as well as moving and interacting with the world.
Come and share our understanding of what orientation involves – how it has been expanded, clarified and what still intrigues us both. We will explore this in conversation, small movement explorations, and examples from our practice; then invite you to join us ‘live’ for a Q&A session and an ATM where we can continue the learning.

This 2 day workshop will explore the seminal ideas that form the foundation of The Feldenkrais Method and what makes it the unique and powerful tool for helping people move and live more in keeping with the way they’d like.
Each foundational idea will be made real through your personal experience via Awareness Through Movement lessons.
Although movement is the vehicle through which the Feldenkrais Method is delivered, better movement in and of itself is not the end goal. It is through movement we learn to have the means to improve life. We use the movements to learn the process of self-organization for movement and in all aspects of life. You will discover: • What causes you or your clients to “get stuck” and how to get “unstuck”
How to experience your connection to the ground and your skeleton as crucial aspects to efficient, powerful and effective action
Ways to utilize this understanding to improve your and your client’s ability to learn new patterns of action
The effectiveness of the Method is in its ability to take advantage of the human capacity for enjoyable learning and neuroplastic change. It is through both Dr. Feldenkrais’s deep understanding of how to make learning interesting and more effective, as well as his deep knowledge of human movement and what makes for efficient, powerful and effective action that makes the work so potent.
Whether you are interested in moving and living more comfortably and effectively in your personal life, or are interested in expanding the tools in your professional toolbox, this workshop will provide you with ideas grounded in science and concrete experience that you’ll be able to continue exploring and bringing into your everyday life.

Find the feeling of effortless movement and sense of balance arises when all our systems work in an integrated way. The ability to remain balanced in our ever-changing world requires a coordination that is in a state of refinement over our lifetime.
This 2-day workshop based on the Feldenkrais Method of Somatic Education provides precise tools for such continuous self-study and leads to ever broader skills that bring more balance to life.
The practical movement explorations called Awareness Through Movement® reveal something innate in all human beings; the ability to learn ever more efficient ways of going about any activity of daily life. Feldenkrais lessons mine the richness of evolutionary and developmental modes of locomotion and unlock their potential for improving ones ability to find ones feet well-grounded while standing tall and moving. The feeling of effortless movement and sense of balance arises when all our systems; muscular, skeletal and fascial work in an integrated way with our neurology and emotions. No part of our system works more than necessary thus freeing disproportionate tensions that hinder our comfort. Feldenkrais lessons explore the “how” of finding this state of ease and support Biotensegrity: a 21st-century anatomical concept that views all organisms as a complex integration of cellular subsystems. The connection of all of ourselves in everything we do is a principle of the Feldenkrais Method. This workshop is for you if:
